Film Importation
NFC is the authorization body for grant permission for the foreign film importation and the annual license and authority for each and every foreign film should be obtained from the NFC.
Registration of Suppliers for Importation of Films
The eligibility of persons / institutions for registration would be as follows.
- Theater Owners / Lease Holders of Theater.
(Temporary lease owners who have been operating for past 02 years are not eligible) - Film Importers who have been engaged in film importation for past 02 years.
- Film producers / production companies who have produced & exhibited more than 02 films.
- Film distribution circuits
- The companies who deal with the supply of film production facilities & location services.
The application for the annual license, along with the import conditions, could be obtained from the NFC upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Rs. 50,000.00. A public notice regarding this will be published by the NFC in the newspapers in December, prior to the required year.
